End user licence agreement

This is a legal agreement between you and KomoHouse AS ("we") for the software The Drone Machine (the "Software"). By installing or using the Software you agree to it. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.

  1. 01

    Trial

    You may use the Software without a licence key for seven days from first launch, to evaluate it. During the trial a spoken reminder replaces the output briefly at regular intervals. After the trial the Software mutes its output until a licence key is entered.

  2. 02

    Licence

    When you buy a licence you receive a key issued to your name and email address. The key grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Software on the computers you personally use, for any purpose, including commercial music production. A key may be active on two computers at a time; activating it takes one connection to our server, and you can deactivate a computer from within the Software to move the key to another. Sounds you make with the Software are yours.

    Restrictions

    You may not share your key, remove or circumvent the licence check, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software except where the law expressly allows it, or redistribute the Software or any part of it.

    Updates

    Updates to the same major version are included. We may change or discontinue the Software at any time; keys issued keep working with the versions they were issued for.

  5. 05

    Third-party software

    The Software is built with the JUCE framework (Raw Material Software Limited) under the JUCE licence and with the Steinberg VST3 SDK under the Steinberg VST3 Plug-in SDK Licensing Agreement. VST is a trademark of Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH. Their notices are reproduced in the Software's About panel.

  6. 06

    No warranty

    The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Software, and our total liability is limited to the price you paid for your licence.

  7. 07

    Law

    This agreement is governed by the laws of Norway. Disputes go to the courts of our registered seat, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.

  8. 08

    Open edition

    Version 1.0.6 and earlier of The Drone Machine were released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3; copies obtained under it keep that licence. This agreement applies to version 1.1.0 and later only.
